Muslim Women’s Art Festival to be held at Whitworth Gallery next month

The Muslim Women’s Art Festival will be held at the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester, UK, starting on March 4 as part of the larger Muslim Arts and Culture Festival (MACFEST). Over 20 events will be held as part of the festival, which will run until June and feature exhibitions from local artists, including Atefeh Seifi and Ashfia Ashrif, along with calligraphy workshops, poetry performances and music from the Sufi Hip Hop group. The event will also include an International Women’s Day celebration on March 8, featuring talks from guest speakers on Muslim women’s movements and three centuries of travel writing by Muslim women. This year’s MACFEST is the fifth year the festival has been held, and runs until July, with events including art, literature, photography, architecture, music and film.
